Abstract
As years past, more people seem to ask for an immigration reform. Many support the idea of having a reform, because it will help create new jobs and boost the economy. There is also a group of people that do not support the idea, because they feel that the immigrants should first pay a fine, learn English, wait in line, and then apply for a citizenship. President Obama says that he is trying to pass the law but, he needs support from Republicans. Before we see an immigration reform the following requirements are needed, like a safer border, worksite enforcement, and a change of immigration laws. One of the article explains what is really happening inside Congress and why have not we seen a reform. Overall the annotated bibliographies express the many proposals towards a reform by showing us the pros and cons of an immigration reform. The government has not created an immigration reform, but the president says, he will not stop until he obtains support from Congress.
Agency Group, O. (n .d). Immigration update: Maximizing public safety and better focusing resources. FDCH Regulatory Intelligence Database, Retrieved from EBSCOhost.
The business source done by the Agency Group focuses on Obama’s and the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) commitment to fixing the immigration laws. The article’s main focus is the actions taken by the president and the DHS, which include a strategy for public safety and security. To create that sense of feeling, the DHS has prioritized the removal of criminals. The criminals removed had been convicted of crimes, so the DHS deported them. The other plan focuses on reviewing the cases of many immigrants who have not committed crimes and are low-priority cases. By doing this the DHS will have more time to deport those people who harm the society. After the case reviews, non criminal immigrants have better opportunities to become residents.
This is relevant because, before any changes are made to immigration reform, criminal immigrants should be removed so non-criminal immigrants can apply for residency.
Carpeton, R. (Producer) (2010), Immigration reform by the numbers. [Online Video].Available from http:// www.youtube.com
The video provides statistics concerning the enforcement only approach conducted by the government. The approach of returning 11 million immigrant will only wasted money. This approach has only help the agencies that protect our borders, since their budget has increased by 714%.The video says that a comprehensive immigration reform should be the alternative to fixing the problem, but each illegal person has to do his/her part to obtain citizenship. Without this reform it will cost the government 285 billion dollars within the next five years, but a reform will boost a total of 1.5 trillion dollars to the economy within 10 years. The video shows the positive of reform; it will simply help boost the economy with jobs as well.
This video is relevant because it shows the pros and cons of two different ways of solving the immigrant problem, by giving us statistics.

The online article focuses on the idea that U.S will always be an attractive place for immigrants, but it tells the public that immigrants should follow the system. They will have to learn English, wait in line, and then obtain citizenship. Before passing an immigration reform, there are certain requirements needed. The requirements talked about in the article include safer border security, worksite enforcements, guest worker programs, improvement in the immigration system and the naturalization process. These topics will help the immigration reform form little by little.
The article will help give out information about implementing an immigration reform, because it gives the public a broad number of topics that will help form the reform.
Krikorian, M. (2011). To reform Immigration, Legal and Illegal. National Review, 63(15), 36-37. Retrieved from http://www.nationalreview.com/
In the National Review the author offers a series of three immigration reforms or policies concerning the immigration problems in the United States. In the past the author laid out a total of ten points to consider for the reform but now he has only three plans, which are like membership. There will be a basic plan, upgrade plan, and a premium. This article is intended for serious republicans that are looking to become presidents. The two main points of his proposal include the fencing of the border and using E-verify, and removing the visa lottery for immigrants. An additional proposal mentioned in the article has to do with US-VISIT, which is a tracking system to see who enters, who is in the U.S and who leaves.
The National Review is important to the topic because it offers different kinds of proposal targeted for future presidents to follow.
MacDonald, H. (2010). Say no to immigration reform. (Cover story). Forbes, 185(11), 24-26. Retrieved from http://www.forbes.com/forbes/
Heather MacDonald author of the publication expresses that if the laws were enforced, more self-deportation will occur. From the author’s point of view an immigration reform should not happen because the immigrants are the trouble of the nation. As he says immigrants, follow the same steps and don’t progress in life. Much money is spent on the immigrants in school and health care, MacDonald said. All the help/money going toward services for immigrants has had little effect. Some of his comments were that professional immigrants should stay here but low-skill immigrants should go back. Overall he states that, immigrants’ culture should change before an immigration reform should be considered.
As all stories there are two different points of view, this article offers the other side of why we shouldn’t have a reform. That’s why it is relevant to the topic.
Mejia, G. F. (Up loader) (2011) Obama on immigration reform. [Online Video].Available from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hN-CKRELdek&feature=related
In this video interview a reporter asked a series of immigration reform questions to the president, about his point of view. First of all the question have a same path, when and how can an immigration reform be passed. The interview video is intended to inform the public about why the reform has not passed. The key points toward having a reform have to do with the support from congress, congress wanting a safer border first, and prioritizing groups of people, also a plan with the Mexican government. These points are potential for an immigration reform but the message has to be sent first.
The interview video is significant to the topic because it tells why the reform has not been created and explains some key points towards a reform.

This reference article gives us a sense of what is happening inside the White House when it comes to an immigration reform. The article further explains that the promise of an immigration reform is to gain votes and support for the president. As the years have passed the immigration reform has been forgotten because the president had other priorities, which included the health reform, economy, and the stimulus plan. Quick change in congress has made the immigration. This article talks about what congress has done for an immigration reform, and it also tells the public the congress point of view. It further explains that the reform should have been passed the first year in term, but the promise was not kept.
The reference article is significant because we as public see what is really happening inside congress and we see why immigration freeform has not been passed.
